Have you seen the commonly used Yew, Privet, Beech hedgelines? I must say, Photinia Red Robins make for a fantastic colourful hedge. This plant is great, loves a sunny aspect, can work in partial sun, manages in the clay soils, wet, dry, responds well to trimming and has its amazing red foliage throughout all 4 seasons, It explodes into flower in late spring giving beautiful white flowers.

This young hedge featured below was planted in late summer 2011, it should have its roots in now and be really thickening up with this spring’s new growth.

Keep it in mind, if your planning a hedge, its a great plant that makes great hedge lines.
