Asymmetrical style with interlocking geometric shapes
The brief for this project was to create a contemporary space from a traditional space. The new design was based on an asymmetrical style with interlocking geometric shapes and vistas. We created dining areas, morning coffee areas and sunken areas to shelter from heavy winds.
Unity was achieved through the repetition of hard materials. The materials used were sawn sandstone paving with sandstone setts defining the junction points. Western Red Cedar platforms, chunky Oak seating and tables gave the hard-contemporary lines an element of warmth, whilst also adding height to the garden.
