Maidstone lies on the old Roman road to the coast and also sits astride the River Medway which provides access to northern Kent, the Thames estuary and the North Sea. It’s the largest town in Kent yet it manages to retain a bit of small town charm, driven in no small part by the large lots that accompany most houses. For the people of Maidstone, garden design is something of a passion, and when their passions can no longer be realised through their own efforts, they call us.
It is a town with a rich history. From the Old Town Hall to the Archbishop’s Palace and Leeds Castle you can’t go far here without encountering the past. Of course, there is another aspect of British history on display throughout the town, and that is the garden. Residents here invest a lot of time and expend a lot of treasure and effort ensuring their gardens are sources of pride and places of relaxation and rejuvenation. When they need to reach out for garden design in Maidstone the company they trust is Oakleigh Manor.
Homeowners here see their backyards as their sanctuary and typically place great importance on making the most of them. They demand a high degree of competence and imagination from garden designers and we are always up for the challenge. Our designers remain mindful of the town’s historic nature and local flora, while also employing imaginative responses to individual lots that bring them alive in brilliant and often unexpected ways.
Creating a new garden in your yard, or redesigning the existing garden, is no small task. There are a hundred things that need to be considered at every step of the process and an equal number of things that could potentially torpedo the project. Once a garden project reaches a certain size or level of complexity it’s important to call in the professionals, and for many people that means getting on the phone to Oakleigh Manor.
Our team is comprised of some of the most experienced and talented garden designers and builders in Kent. Every one has been chosen by us for their proven skills, their vast knowledge of landscaping and botany and their attention to detail. They can create a new garden for your home that expresses everything you want to see in a garden, and do so for a lot less than you might imagine. If you are contemplating a new garden project you owe it to yourself to give us a call.
Our award-winning team of garden designers and builders have one goal in mind: helping our clients optimize the potential of their space. We are not here to tell you what you want. We are here to listen, learn, and provide you with the best options to bring your dream garden to life. We also design and build in a way that respects the environment and uses local resources whenever possible.
To create a truly exceptional garden design you need to know more than which plants will thrive in the Kent environment and which won’t. You need to understand the history of the English garden, be up to date on current trends and have an intrinsic understanding of space and how to optimise its use in an ergonomically pleasing way. That might sound like a lot to ask of a garden designer. But if you’re not getting that from your current design company it’s time to expect more and switch to Oakleigh Manor.
At Oakleigh Manor, we get enormous satisfaction out of enhancing the natural environment in a way that enables our client’s lifestyle, sparks their imagination, and provides deep, abiding satisfaction year after year. After all, a garden is a living thing.
We handle all aspects of garden design and construction in-house. That means there is no bickering between contractors, no delays caused by conflicting schedules, no communication breakdowns, and everyone knows what everyone else is doing at all times. The end result is a garden that is precisely what you hoped it would be when you approved the design.
Our job is to provide it with an engaging, uplifting personality so that it can become an integral part of your domestic experience.
Anyone can plant a few flowers and a hedgerow. It takes real talent and experience to create a garden that speaks to who you are, enhances the quality of your life, and raises the value of your Maidstone property, all at the same time.
The right garden will enhance your lifestyle, impress friends and neighbours, provide a nice bump to your home valuation, provide a refuge where you can let go of the cares and stresses of the world and freshen the air around your home at the same time.
A bespoke garden for your Maidstone residence will pay handsome dividends, both obvious and subtle, for many years to come. To learn more contact Oakleigh Manor today on 0800 023 1310 and set up an appointment with one of our expert garden designers.
We appointed Oakleigh Manor to have our garden completely redesigned; adding a new patio and a large pergola. It was a big job taking several months to complete. We were away travelling at the time, so David kept in touch with us with suggestions for the planting plans and photos to show how the garden was progressing. David and Stuart were great to work with. They were professional, gave advice and David still pops over to make suggestions for new plants or shrubs. We use their garden maintenance team on a monthly basis. The team are courteous, professional and very good with our dog. We enjoy being in our garden and have had many admiring compliments from friends and neighbours.
From Victor’s amazing and imaginative design, through the whole careful build with the unobtrusive team led by the capable Luke, Stuart’s magical lighting and water feature, David’s wonderful planting and Rebecca’s updates throughout the whole process we have been so impressed with everyone at Oakleigh Manor. They have been so professional and we are absolutely delighted with our fabulous new garden.

Fantastic experience. Incredible job. Landscape gardening and a beautiful swimming pool in our garden. Cannot rave about this company enough. The attention to detail and looking after us so well from start to finish.
Oakleigh Manor took on the project to transform our large lifeless garden into a peaceful, contemporary, yet pretty haven and they certainly succeeded.
We chose Oakleigh Manor as they were able to fulfill everything we wanted for our front drive and garden.
