When it comes to garden styling in modern times, we don’t think you can get much better than contemporary. It’s very much ‘in’ right now – with the combination of slick and crisp style and low maintenance features coming together to suit a range of audiences.

Young couples, busy families, or the recently retired looking for something a little easier to manage – a contemporary-style garden suits everyone!

Working with Us

Over the years we have streamlined our processes to make them as efficient as possible. We’ve also made them as person-centred as possible, putting you at the heart of everything we do. Here’s a bit more detail on what you can expect when you work with us:

  • Firstly, we’ll come and visit your existing space. This is an opportunity for us to get to know and understand what you want, and help you by offering advice on what is and isn’t possible (where we can, we try to believe anything is possible!)
  • Next, we’ll pull together a quote. We promise to be open and transparent from the start. We’ll explain the cost of the design process, offer advice on the surveys you might need, and then quote you (hopefully) happy on the actual build process.
  • We’ll then offer advice on planning permission if needed, too.

What Else Do We Offer?

We don’t just design gardens, we build them too! When it comes to gardening and landscaping, there really isn’t anything we don’t do. From swimming pools to artificial turf, new lighting to driveways, we can help with all your residential outdoor needs.

Creating your Dream Contemporary Garden

Crisp, sharp lines

A key feature of a contemporary garden is the use of crisp and clean lines and shapes which can be created with the use of hard materials, such as stone, paving and decking. This creates a flawless finish that is pleasing to the eye.

Natural Materials & Neutral Tones

The use of natural materials is very important in a contemporary-style garden. You will often see muted tones, such as greys, whites and creams, creating an air of simplicity yet enhancing the flawless finish to the garden.

Popular choices of material include:

  • Porcelain paving
  • Composite decking
  • Slate
  • Corten steel
  • Timber
  • Oak
  • Western red cedar

Low Maintenance Planting Schemes

In a contemporary garden, plants are often contained within beds and neatly manicured. You will often see trimmed box hedges and small pockets of plants surrounding patio/decking areas. Although plants are often a subtle addition in a contemporary garden, the planting is a great way to soften areas of hard materials.

Water Features

A water feature is a great addition to a contemporary garden, adding other sensory ingredients to the space with the movement of the water.

Lighting Scheme

Lighting in a contemporary garden is key to creating a functional space that can be enjoyed day to night. Illuminating different areas can help to define the lines and shapes and highlight key features in the garden. A great addition to give your garden the wow-factor.

Contemporary Garden Structures

Including a garden structure such as a pergola or gazebo can add another dimension to your contemporary garden. Not only that, but the use of natural wood such as Oak or Cedar can help tie everything in together and compliment the neutral tones.
